The Incredible Benefits of a Hot Tub Wet Test

Posted 8/3/2017

If you haven't shopped for a hot tub before, wet testing a hot tub may be a foreign concept. Essentially, wet testing allows you to try before you buy so you know that a particular hot tub is right for you.

Below you'll learn why wet tests are essential and what to consider while wet testing your spa to help you choose the right hot tub.

Is It Roomy?

One of the most important things a wet test can reveal is whether a hot tub is the right size or not. Have the number of people who will be using the hot tub with you and sit in the hot tub together. As you do so, notice whether there is enough room. Do you have plenty of space to move in your seat without cramping the person next to you? Does the hot tub seem too big for the number of people you'll frequently host? Is there enough room in the footwell for everyone's feet to comfortably fit?

Are the Seats Comfortable?

As you sit in the hot tub, pay attention to the seats. Are they deep enough to cover your upper body? (This is important if you plan to use it in cool weather.) Also make sure the seats are comfortable to sit in. Multi-level seats that are ergonomically designed to accommodate many body shapes and sizes are often a worthy investment.

In addition, don't forget to test the lounger seat. Make sure you don't float off and that it's as comfortable as you prefer.

Do the Jets Do Their Job?

Hot tub jets are among the most important parts of your experience. As you soak, notice whether the types of jets, pressure, and placement feel right. In addition, try out therapeutic programs that are available to make sure they give you the massage you're looking for. Also pay attention to how noisy the hot tub is to ensure that you get a peaceful soak.

How Well Do Additional Features Work?

If you're trying out a hot tub with aromatherapy, a zoned jet system, or a cool off seat, try out all of these functions to make sure they work the way you want them to. Additional features can be expensive, so determining whether they're a need or simply a want is important.
