Is the Hot Tub the New Kitchen Table?
For many years, socializing in the kitchen with friends and family was the traditional way to catch up on what has been happening in each other’s lives. Sitting around the kitchen table chatting with each other, sharing a meal or drink has always been a great way to bond, relieve stress and unwind. For most people, the kitchen is a place where they feel at ease and comfortable, however, a new trend is beginning to emerge and replace the kitchen table as the social hub of the home and that is the hot tub.
In the article below, we will discuss how having a hot tub becomes the entertainment hub of your home and how to make it a relaxing area to socialize and enjoy the company of others.
Why a Hot Tub?
Hot tubs are a great way to relax, unwind and socialize with friends and family. Best of all, they can be used year round, regardless of the climate and whether it is snowing, sunny or a rainy day, people will rarely turn down an invitation to a hot tub party or gathering. To ensure that you can always accommodate an unexpected guest or family member, it is a good idea to have a few spare bathing suits on hand and plenty of towels and robes available.
Like a Kitchen Table But More
Just like a kitchen table, a hot tub is a perfect place to relax with a drink, share a few snacks and even play a board game. If you are serving your guests drinks, make sure that you are using plastic, patio cups that will not accidentally break or shatter in the water. Also, although people love the idea of a fruity cocktail or ice cold beer while soaking in the warm water of a hot tub, be sure to have a variety of non-alcoholic beverages on had to serve so that bathers do not become dehydrated.
If you want to serve snacks, many hot tub owners choose to have a small outdoor dining area near their hot tub. This is a perfect place to place a spread of tasty appetizers for bathers to nibble on before or after a soak. The best part about having a table and additional patio seating near your hot tub is that guests can still all socialize whether or not they are in the hot tub. Plus, it gives you a lot more room than the average kitchen table can seat!
Games
Hot tubs are also a fantastic place to participate in everyone’s favourite board games. Today’s market has plenty of variety for waterproof hot tub games including checkers, chess, playing cards and UNO. Plus, with a hot tub, it is easy to make up fun games for socializing such as hot tub hockey (played with a rubber duck as the puck) or a balloon water filling competition that uses the water jets and will get everyone laughing.
Move Over Kitchen Table
The next time that friends or family members come visit, let them gather around your hot tub instead of your kitchen table. Once they have experienced the fun, social experience that a hot tub party brings, they will quickly have no desire to head back to your kitchen.
